Submitting Single Posts to Eight Brothers

This is an open conversation, and if you’ve got something to say that is bigger than a comment, we’d love to have you pop in and give us an earful. If you are interested in submitting a post to Eight Brothers, but do not wish to become a regular contributor, follow these steps. (Note: all regular authors of Eight Brothers are alumni of KKPsi. Guest Contributors may be active, conditional, or even prospective members, and may be members of Tau Beta Sigma.)

  1. Email us at eightbrothers@gmail.com and let us know that you are interested in submitting a guest post.
  2. We will email you directions for setting up a contributor account on WordPress. Do all that stuff. :)
  3. Send us the email address you used to set up the account, and we will give you limited access to Eight Brothers.
  4. When you have set up the account, you may submit your guest post and save it. It will not be automatically posted. A site administrator will review it (for decency, spam, etc. – not content) and publish it.

Becoming a Regular Author on Eight Brothers

If you are interested in becoming a part of Eight Brothers, we would love to hear from you. We want to keep our numbers under a reasonable level, and we are also concerned with maintaining the integrity and chemistry of our little group. However, we are always eager to add new friends to the conversation. To help us find the right people for this blog, we have the following application process.

First, make sure that all of the following statements are true about yourself:

  • I am a Brother of Kappa Kappa Psi.
  • I am an alumni of Kappa Kappa Psi.
  • I was a member in the Western District. (We are slowly spreading East, so if you’re really interested but don’t fit this item, get in touch.)
  • I think I have something constructive to add to this blog.

If all four of those items are true about yourself, then we invite you to submit a guest post. In order to submit a guest post:

  1. Email us at eightbrothers@gmail.com and let us know that you are interested in joining. Please include a brief introduction that lets us know that you are in fact a WD KKPsi alum.
  2. We will email you directions for setting up a contributor account on WordPress. Do all that stuff. :)
  3. Send us the email address you used to set up the account, and we will give you limited access to Eight Brothers.
  4. When you have set up the account, you may submit your guest post and save it. It will not be automatically posted. A site administrator will review it (for decency, spam, etc. – not content) and publish it.
  5. If the rest of the Brothers aren’t horrified, you will be invited to post two more guest posts over a two week period. This is to determine whether you are really committed to being a continuing member of the blog, or if you just had the one thing to say.
  6. After three posts, the Eight Brothers will have a top secret meeting in which they will loudly speculate as to your writing style, character, and taste in clothing. At that time, if we believe that you would be a good addition to our conversation, you will be granted regular Author access to the blog, with the ability to write, edit, post, and delete your own posts with impunity.

Note: Eight Brothers Walk Into a Bar reserves the right to deny anyone membership and/or posting privileges. This is a private blog, and we are not obligated to state or defend our reasons for refusing access. We certainly hope that that sort of situation will not come up, but if it does, this is the fine print.
